Marty Nothstein Comments on Budget Deal
I commend Senator Toomey’s leadership and vote against the most recent budget deal.
While I am happy that the budget deal increased funding for our military and veterans, I am disappointed that it also added over $100 billion in other spending. This threatens our economy and national security by increasing our national debt once again.
Instead of focusing on national priorities, Washington rammed thorough another temporary continuing resolution with little debate or scrutiny.
Congress chose the ‘all of the above’ option by irresponsibly increasing spending and paying for it by borrowing more money from China.
We need accountability for Congress and must restore regular order to the budget process. We must stop spending more than we have while endlessly increasing our national debt.
