Nothstein issues statement on Supreme Court nominee
OREFIELD, Pa. -- Republican congressional candidate Marty Nothstein issued the following statement on the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court:
“In selecting Judge Kavanaugh the president has offered a solid and thoughtful nominee to the high court. It is now up to the senate to put aside party agendas and give a fair hearing free of litmus tests and partisan gamesmanship.
“My campaign has been about ending gridlock in Washington and this nomination offers an opportunity for Congress to move past partisan anger.”
Nothstein, a resident of Orefield, Lehigh County, serves as chairman of the Lehigh County Board of Commissioners and currently runs his own small business Nothstein also owns and works his family farm and has been active in land conservation. In 2000 he won a gold medal in cycling at the Summer Olympics.
